IO2 Pilot Test – Margarita’s hiking group

On 28/7/2022 Margarita’s hiking group, as part of the Inside Erasmus + project, followed a very interesting and easy route in the area of Penteli.

Penteli is a pyramid-shaped mountain of Attica with a maximum altitude of 1,109 meters that borders the Athens basin to the southwest. The mountain is famous for its dense forests and 1,100 species of plants as well as for its famous marble that was used in the Golden Age of Pericles for the construction of the Parthenon..

In about 1.5 hours we did a circular route of 2.5 kilometers. We started on trails that went smoothly uphill and progressed to downhill trails. Our students tried to apply walking techniques uphill and downhill. We passed through a forest dominated by pines, cypresses and poplars and came across picturesque churches. We took a twenty minute break for snacks and short stop for photos. We also talked about the health benefits of walking.

It was a pleasant experience!
